Major Court Cases
- Marbury v Madison (1803) - Justice William Marbury charged James Madison refusing to deliver documents to the court. Created the use of judical review.
- McCulloch v Maryland (1819) - Decision gave congress implied powers.
- Miranda v Arizona (1966) - Decision created the Miranda Right which must be told to a person as they are being arrested.
- Plessy v Ferguson (1896) - Upheld racial segregation laws with "seperate but equal" public facilities (restrooms, water fountains, schools).
- Brown v Board of Education of Topeka (1954) - Overturned Plessy v Ferguson and claimed that all races should be able to use the same facilities.
